Kim Harwood Stonework
Kim Harwood has been building high quality dry laid stone landscapes in Western Massachusetts since 1999. After working with Little and Reid Garden Design (Amherst, MA), he established Kim Harwood Stonework in 2002. His mission with Kim Harwood Stonework is to create beautiful works of functional stone art that will enhance our enjoyment of the landscape and endure the test of time.
His work has a unique artistic and sculptural look in which carefully selected stones are fit tightly along crisp lines and graceful curves. Most of the work is made with mica schist quarried in Goshen and Cummington, MA, and accented with flat cobble stone gathered from gravel pits and riverbeds in the Pioneer Valley. Other works are built with whatever field stone is available on site or selected by his clients.
Kim works closely with his clients to develop optimal designs that emphasize elegance and beauty while meeting utilitarian and architectural needs.
He is proud to have assembled a fine crew of craftsmen who work with him to create the manifestations of his obsession with stone.
